eBay seller arrested over stolen Corvette hoods

A Fort Wayne man who reportedly tried to sell stolen Corvette parts online was charged Monday with receiving stolen property after he offered the merchandise to an Indiana State Police detective.

The detective went to the home of Troy Fritz, 29, of the 10000 Trade Wind Court, in an attempt to purchase the stolen merchandise and discovered the Corvette hoods.

A manager at Creative Liquid Coatings in Kendallville had called state police after discovering six Chevrolet Corvette hoods his company was supposed to paint for General Motors were missing.

The manager found the carbon fiber hoods, which cost $6,000 each, for sale on eBay for $850 each.
